Petris White is a well-regarded white wine from Kyperounda Winery, and it is made primarily from Xynisteri, an indigenous white grape variety that is the most important in Cyprus. This grape is known for producing fresh, crisp, and aromatic wines with good acidity.
The name “Petris” is derived from the Greek word for stone or rock, which references the rocky, mountainous terrain where the grapes are grown. The Troodos Mountains, at an elevation of about 1,200 meters above sea level, offer a cooler climate, which helps preserve the freshness and acidity of the grapes.
